First match Report – and It’s hot as hell in Syracuse – LFC win
So it’s 1-0 in the away leg of the Europa League Third Road Qualifier. Oh and that centre half who needs to retire, got his 700th match. I don’t hate the legend, he’s just too old. Oh and as the title says, it’s hot here in Syracuse. Then again, I’m at home with my father, (shouldn’t only be my father, but I won’t get into that right now) and we have a pool. So, it might be splash splash! This was the first match in the long career of Brenden Rodgers, and just like Rafa his career started out in Europe, yup, read that on twitter.
Most of the match was, pretty boring until Stewart Freaking Downing scored. Yup in the SECOND HALF. There’s something we’ve never seen, and probably won’t again. Yeah maybe he’s not ready for our level naturally, but let’s be honest over the past couple of years Liverpool has been playing at he same level as his old club normally plays. Think of that, LFC is playing like Aston Villa.
That wasn’t something I saw coming, after all Lucas and Raheem Sterling were on. Not that Lucas is a scorer, but he’s amazing, he’s the South American Stevie G. Yeah I know that I’m blowing Lucas out of proportion but that’s me. Stewart Downing isn’t the best, as has been harped on by many bloggers and pundits, but he’s not a League 1 player.
Boy could this team use Joe Allen and Clint Dempsey. Yeah, think of that, two players who aren’t a part of the club could do better. All isn’t lost, the club didn’t have the Uruguayans, Craig Bellamy, and Carroll was in Liverpool. Carroll, may not be long for the club, but still he’s better than having a new player out there (Borini). Oh and Pepe wasn’t back yet. Yawn. I know the twitter fans were all over the club.
This is why it’s good to have a block button on twitter.
Here’s the good thing, there’s another match next week, and the chance that new players will come in. All isn’t lost.
