Is this the turning point for the Union?
So since the Manager who was looking for a Job, reportedly at Hearts, was fired, the Philadelphia Union have looked great. Maybe they couldn’t Hack it. Yeah I know cheap shot at the name, but if you have been reading for a while, I like turns of words and stuff like that. Hey, any way to get your creativity out. But it’s also good to see the positive play in the side right now. Looking good against DC United is one thing, taking it to a Sporting KC side that was picked to be in the playoffs this year is another.
Two goals from “in the doghouse because I’m not someone the other manager thought could go to Hearts or whatever” Jack McInerney was great. I’ve always thought that he was worth it, but the stupidity of the last regime showed that they didn’t care whatsoever. If you draft a player, and he’s shown that he has the talent, why not play him? That question has launched blogs and podcasts for years. We don’t need to let talent ride the bench for some foreigners.
The last two scorers in the 4-0 butt whooping were:
|Lionard Pajoy and Antoine Hoppenot|
Good to see the scoreline being in the Union’s favor, and maybe this is Hackworth’s way of keeping the job. Yes some people, namely Simon Allen think that he’s a horrible coach, and promoting from within is horrible, makes the club look bad etc. But didn’t Liverpool from the 60′s until mid-90′s do the same thing. Yeah two different things, Liverpool had a winning culture, and the Union are new. Well, all good things have to start somewhere.
