The Week that was – LFC


I haven’t completely ignored Liverpool lately, it’s just with work, and radio, I’ve not had much time to write any opinion pieces. That, and I’ve been sick of hearing the opinions of the social networking LFC fans. Most of it is mean, and wrong, and just not right. Not that my opinions are better, but they aren’t of the glory hunter, young Liverpool fans. Ok, so I’m still young, and young to the sport, but we get the point.

First, new manager, Brendan Rodgers out of Swansea. Ok, not the best name, and I know there’s a certain Liverpool fan on the west coast who has a radio show I’ve been on who doesn’t like this. Ok so it’s Simon Allen, but he’ has to realize, that Jose or Pep aren’t coming to Liverpool, they won’t leave clubs, or come to clubs that don’t have UCL chances. As much as every Liverpool fan wants the club back at the top, it won’t happen overnight. Getting in someone like Brendan who is well thought of can help. Yes the England manager was well thought of, but played a style of the sport that wasn’t working, and won’t work at the National team. But I don’t like that man whatsoever. Plus Brendan is only 40, and plays a kind of soccer that can help Liverpool move up, that’s if the players who didn’t play for Kenny, actually play hard this term.

Oh and the squad clean out is happening right now. It’s needed to happen, Kenny should have gotten rid of some of the dead wood at half term, but sadly he was too loyal to anyone. Maybe if he would have gotten rid of some of the players who didn’t give a damn, he’d still be in charge and we’d have two cups, and be higher than 8th. Sadly no. Of course at the end of the season players who don’t make it to the first team are cut. But also Dirk Kuyt left for that club named  Fenerbache. Yeah, they are sometimes good enough to make a dent in Europe. I hope Dirk goes there, and wins a lot, gets them far into Europe. I however don’t want to see him play at Anfield with any other team.  He needs to come back as a scout or a coach.

That and I’d love to steal Grant Holt from Norwich and stash him on our bench. Why? Just so he can’t stop LFC from getting to the top.
