What to do about the summer other than Watch Taylor Swift concerts – LFC column
So we’re coming off a bad year, going to Europe, two cup finals, and a cup coming back to Liverpool. There are many clubs who would take that, and would love it, but at Liverpool you have to strive for better. If you’ve listened to me on any one of the many radio shows I do during the week, I’ve gone on and on about the state of the club.
The fact that a club managed by Kenny Dalglish, is not playing with heart, is sad, but he’s managing like he’s in the 80′s. Time and time again, he shows that using old school tactics doesn’t work. Maybe he needed a year to get used to the new game. Who knows, but what needs to happen is that someone with European experience needs to help him as the DOF. That would make a great step for the club. It could be anyone, there’s people at Barca (he has a very weird spelling to his name) and some other various people at Ajax, Portugal, etc who can come in, show the club how to get it’s head out of the 80′s and move on to be the best they can be.
I’m not one to think that there isn’t a way for the club to become better, and get back to the winning ways of the great years. As I have said on the radio shows there’s enough dead wood on this team to make any superficial fan run away to support Southampton. However, with some clever dealings, I think that Kenny can deal with the deadwood, and bring in some young, great talent.
Oh and he needs to stop buying British and Scottish players. Yeah there’s some good players in the leagues, but how many top players in the world are from the UK? Not many, ok so I’m biased to Stevie G and anyone in the Liverpool or non-Manchester clubs. We need more flair, more great players in the club. And another freaking scorer.
Some Players to look at
F Luke DeJong
Wingers – Eljero Ella, Milos Krasic, from Juvy
All world – USA talent, who played in New England, near where FSG is from – Fulham’s Clint Dempsey
That would be a great start to the next great era in LFC history. And I get the suspicion I will be writing on this later. Because with anything with soccer, the news always is around.
