The Best Thing about Norwich match yesterday

A good thing about blogging is that you can sit back after a match and really think about it before said blogger posts his comment. There’s no doubting that this season has been very hard, and no one would doubt Kenny if he left after the year. No fan would doubt Kenny if he stayed either. Between all the times the players hitting the woodwork, the off the pitch problems, and Cup runs, it’s been a fun year.

The club needed Norwich to be a win, just like Fulham on Tuesday, to build confidence into the win in the FA Cup Final on Saturday. And the good thing about the Norwich game is that Luis got a hat trick. This can help him against Fulham, a club you can’t hate, and that’s because they are Chelsea. But they are pretty darn good. Wouldn’t Dempsey look good at Anfield?

I fully expected a 1-1 draw, just on current form, the threat of the FA Cup coming up. This team hasn’t shown to me that it can string together any run of games that can build confidence. That’s sad, us as the fans don’t have the confidence in the players or the manager. And let me remind you, Kenny has more cups than most clubs do. We needed this. Luis needed a hat trick, he needed to show again why he was transferred in for so much. We know why he is so good, we’ve seen him rescue us before, he just needed one game where he was the reason for everything positive in the match.

What I’m hoping came out of this match is that Luis has found the back of the net, and not the woodwork. While he’s our goal threat, another confidence boosting match, can only take him to Dirk Kuyt’s level. Yes, Dirk isn’t the player that Luis is, but Dirk can put a ball in the back of the net when it is needed. I almost have wanted to call him Dagger, but I’m not one for nicknames.

This match can only help LFC now, and in the future. Of course that being said, I have it in my head that the Fulham match is going to be a bad match, just something about resting players comes to my mind. God I hope I’m wrong.
